Our Story
Riverside Medical Centre was established in 1995 by Dr. Patrick Lynch, who has proudly provided GP care to the local community and the wider South Tipperary region for more than 30 years.
In the early years of the practice, Dr. Lynch worked alongside his wife, Dr. Bernadette Rowan, who provided specialist community ophthalmology services and expertise to patients attending the centre. During this time, Nurse Mary Hunter also became an integral part of the practice team, working closely with Dr. Lynch for many years before her retirement in 2025. Through their dedication and commitment to patient care, Riverside Medical Centre flourished and expanded its services, attracting allied healthcare providers such as Hidden Hearing, who continue to provide audiology services from the practice.
Under Dr. Lynch’s leadership, Riverside Medical Centre has continued to grow and evolve to meet the healthcare needs of the community. In 2023, Dr. Aisling O’Shea and Nurse Amanda Lonergan joined the team, bringing additional expertise and further expanding the range of services available to patients.
Since then, Riverside Medical Centre has become a GP training practice, welcoming GP registrars as part of its commitment to medical education. Both Dr. Lynch and Dr. O’Shea are passionate about teaching and take great pride in supporting and mentoring the next generation of general practitioners.
As the population and demand for GP services continue to grow across Ireland, Riverside Medical Centre has further expanded its clinical team. In 2026, we were delighted to welcome Nurse Moyra Hartley and Dr. Eoin Ryan to the practice. Nurse Hartley brings extensive experience in cardiology nursing, while Dr. Ryan has particular interests in lifestyle medicine, paediatrics, and tropical and travel medicine.
Today, Riverside Medical Centre remains committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred healthcare to individuals and families across Clonmel and the wider South Tipperary community.
