Dr Aisling O’Shea
Dr. Aisling O’Shea joined Riverside Medical Centre in 2022 and provides comprehensive, patient-centred care across all areas of general practice. She has particular interests in women's health, dermatology, obesity medicine, and preventative healthcare, and is committed to helping patients achieve long-term health and wellbeing through evidence-based medicine.
After graduating from medical school in 2011, Dr. O’Shea completed the North Dublin City GP Vocational Training Scheme and has since developed extensive experience across a broad range of medical specialties. She holds a Diploma in Obstetrics and Women's Health and a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Examination and Injury Management, and has undertaken additional postgraduate training in child health, contraception, sexual health, and dermatology. She is currently completing a Master's degree in Obesity Medicine, reflecting her commitment to providing evidence-based support for weight management and metabolic health.
Women's health is a key area of interest for Dr. O’Shea. She provides a wide range of services including contraception counselling, cervical screening, pregnancy care, and menopause management. She also has a special interest in dermatology and skin health, with additional specialist training in acne management, including isotretinoin (Roaccutane) prescribing.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. O’Shea is passionate about medical education and serves as a GP Trainer with the South East GP Training Scheme, helping to train and mentor future General Practitioners. She has also contributed to medical research, with publications in the fields of women's health, vaccination in pregnancy, and colorectal cancer.
Outside of medicine, Dr. O’Shea is a mother of two young children and enjoys an active lifestyle. She is a keen runner, hiker, and tennis player, and loves spending time outdoors with her family.
